Deviation Actions

There has been some issues recently regarding the Maturity Standard of this group. Allow me to elaborate what's been going on.

As many of you know, I made a blog asking for new moderators. In it, I expressed that many of the mods had been trolls. Here is what I meant by that.

Several of my moderators had been intentionally letting in mature things into the gallery, to troll. I fired everyone I caught doing it, and that cut down my mods by over half. Now, we've been trying to go in and remove everything that they allowed in, but sometimes we just can't find them. Which is where you come in.

If you find a mature deviation in our group folders, please let us know. Especially, the folder and page you found it on. We will remove it instantly.

I would like to thank everyone who's pointed things out to us, and things that we haven't removed, it's just because we haven't found them yet. But we will. Sadly we cannot remove them on the deviation's page, we must find them in the group.

However, they've been doing this for a while now, actually for the past 6 months until recently. That's when I moved out and got a studio apartment with a roommate. We could not afford internet, and we still cannot. I can only get online once a day, for an hour, if that, on very terrible community internet. This internet does not allow me to vote nor delete messages one at a time.

Hence why things had been getting out of control lately, because the group was soley in the hands of my ever-busy, hard working and trusted Second in Command, xenacee. She did everything she could, but she also works and expected the mods and other co-founders to at least be helpful. And most of them were not.

My absence was not unplanned. I let everyone know on both the admin area and on my personal account, that Punk was in charge and I would hardly be on. And that is when the 6 or so moderators began trolling to allow mature things into the group. My good mods and Co-founders removed them as best they could, but some still slipped passed because the message center is huge and vey much a cluster. In addition, anything that's been voted in, is no longer on the voting page, and I can't have expected them to check every single deviation, and neither should you.

Now, another thing I'd like to clear up.

Some of you know that the original creator of the group is Xoirh. He had been banned from the group, and I shall elaborate why.

Originally, he left the group because it is too stressful. [I can see why he did, but I will not, not ever] And when I took over, he had originally left the group but asked to be let in as a co-founder. He agreed to help with things while I was away.

And about... Oh, I think it was two or so months in, he suddenly flipped his lid. He notcied all the things wrong, the expired submissions from the mods not doing their work. But instead of going through and voting himself, he complained about it. In addition, he made an announcement in the Admin area, telling everyone how he thought that the group had gone down the toilet and all the problems with it.

He did this, instead of doing a SINGLE thing to try and fix the situation. He just complained and whined about what was wrong, what he KNEW was wrong, but he did nothing about it. Not a single thing. Then he removed what he'd written and said "Meh, forget it" and left the group.

This, I believe, constitutes a ban. He scolded the mods instead of trying to help them. He expected to sit on his co-founder pedistal and do nothing, then take all the credit when things went right. Instead, he placed all the blame on me, and I wasn't even there. He did not bother trying to aid the situation by talking to my SiC, he just made a complaining, rude announcement for all the admin staff to see. In fact, when he was Founder he didn't do anything. When I became founder, I worked my ass off to make folders and vote things in until I moved, with my staff. I can't vote on many submissions now, but my mods know that and the ones left [and our newer ones] have really been stepping up to the plate and taking charge of things.

Voxis was then incredibly rude and nasty to me when I tried to talk to him, and also to Punk when she did. He had no interest in doing any work, just wanted to point out follies and then do nothing to better the conditions. THAT is why he is banned, because he turned his back on the group as a whole and then tried to make us all look bad when he knew exactly what was wrong, and it was just as much his fault as it was the other non-working mods. He was a dead-beat then tried to call us out on his own laziness, which is probably why he removed the original statement.

I can understand if he didn't want to work on the group anymore. If that was the case, why bother being an admin at all? Because it got his name on our front page, which got him views and he got to tell people he was a co-founder on DA's second biggest group. That's why. He didn't expect to be held responsible for his role. And when he was, he left.

Now, do not go and harass Voxis about this. I just wanted to make it painfully clear to EVERYONE what had happened to him. He made a great group, but his inablity to understand how groups worked [He didn't even know what sub folders were, but I cannot blame him for this at all, it was not an error in judgement at all] and the group exploded into popularity caused him to become overwhelmed. He handled some things wrong but he did a lot right as well. His last hurrah just so happened to fall into "handled things wrong" category. But he does not deserve to be harassed. He DID create this group that I now own and work like a second job, and for that I am thankful to him. But that does not change what he did, nor excuse him from it.

We are still going through and hiring moderators. If you have sent in an application and have not seen a reply yet, I and Punk have just not gotten to you. We are going to allow in anyone who qualifies, and anyone who doesn't, we'll let you know so you won't be wondering.

I would just like to thank everyone once again who's been helpful. It's been a stressful month, this one. I'd also like to personally thank our Mod team, both old and new. Some of my oldest mods are the hardest of workers, and I will fight to the bitter end to anyone who badmouths them. Many of them I consider friends.

Our moderator team is amazing. They work hard on a group they get nothing out of. They go through almost 2,000 messages a week and vote on them. They work hard and they deserve to get all the credit for it. Anyone who thinks they aren't doing their job should just see the kind of message floods and idiots they have to deal with back here. The amount of rudeness toward them for just trying to help is disgusting.

But if you do happen to feel you are being harassed or mistreated, you can note the group. Or, if you do are either unsatisfied with the group notes or do not wish to at all, you can note myself, Wooden-Flashlight or my SiC, xenacee. We will both do our best to help you. Comments on the front page are often hidden if they are frustrated sounding. This isn't because we do not want to help you, but because we do not want to try and talk you down in our public front page's comments.

And finally, one last thing:

Some of you may have noticed I changed the names of the admin's roles. I'm just going to clarify them for you.

The Tyrannical Princess
That's me, the Founder. I called it this because some people a while back called me a tyrant, and I thought this was funny because of a few reasons. Mostly because I am a huge Transformers fan, and my favorite qoute of Megatron is "Peace through tyranny!" and I used to use it a lot. It's from my favorite Transformers comic. So that is why, I thought it was sort of funny. I've always been a Decepticon girl myself.

The Grand Viziers
These are the Co-founders. I called them this as another joke, but this one a bit more literary related. Often in stories with a single royal ruler, the most trusted and closest of the leader are the Grand Viziers. But in these same stories, 90% of the time they are evil and betray the royal.[Aladdin, Thief and the Cobbler, ect] I called my co-founders this because I think FIVE of them now have turned on me. So it's just a joke. Everyone who is a co-founder now are people I trust or have known personally for years.

The Royal Guard
The moderators! This is because they do the grunt work, the hardest work and get the most flack for it. Like I said, they work hard and often times get snapped at by frustrated members, and sometimes are even called out on member's accounts. They serve this group well and get so much crap for it sometimes, and little to no thanks, like that of a royal army.

The Artisans and Scribes
And finally, these are the contributors. They are the people who's work is good enough to be automatically approved. They are mostly artists in digial or traditional medium, but some are plush makers or the like. In addition, if you see someone who you think deserves to be one, go ahead and let us know!

I hope that clears everything up. Things are finally getting back on track, hopefully we'll get a dozen more new mods that work hard, and that will lift the burden off everyone's shoulders.
